I like to characterize myself as a realistic optimist. I am young but I have seen more of the world than some people ever will, and I consider myself fortunate for that. These are some strange times we are living through, and I cannot even imagine the things I will see in my lifetime.
I have a board above my desk that I have decorated with some of my favorite quotes collected over the past few years. I don't feel as though I have anything sufficiently momentous to tell the world, so I've decided to share some of these messages I look at every day. I find they help me keep my chin up when my natural cheer falls short of the task.
"To see the world in a grain of sand/ and heaven in a wild flower,/ hold infinity in the palm of your hand/ and eternity in an hour." -William Blake
"Though she be but little, she is fierce" -Shakespeare
"Softness is not weakness. It takes courage to stay delicate in a world this cruel." -Beau Taplin
"It's amazing how a little tomorrow can make up for a whole lot of yesterday." - John Guare
"Happiness is holding someone in your arms and knowing you hold the whole world." -Orhan Pamuk
"Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats." -Voltaire
"Sometimes people care too much. I think it's called love." -A.A. Milne
"The baby bat screamed out in fright, 'turn on the dark, I'm afraid of the light.'" -Shel Silverstein
I love hearing people's stories and always enjoy sharing my own. Feel free to send me an email.
