I'm a 30-year-old attorney who had grand plans to write about Ledell Lee, the man recently killed by the State of Arkansas, and how hard it is to overcome a jury verdict of death -- even with trial lawyers who asked to get off the case, a judge who had an affair with the prosecutor, a post-conviction lawyer drunk in court, a second post-conviction lawyer who missed filing deadlines, and a third post-conviction lawyer who had his license suspended last year. Through all of it, Lee said he didn't do it.
But then my sister went into labor last night with our family's first grandchild, and, well, life!
